From their backgrounds as DJ and Commodore composer respectively, David and Llorca have built their 'Le Macons De La Musique' production partnership, and the highly regarded Brique Rouge label. When they met, they both learned a different skill. David taught Llorca the art of mixing, while in turn Llorca showed David how to produce his own material. Musically as well, both complement each other. Llorca's material shows a love for the Jazzier and laid back elements of House, typified by his acclaimed debut album "New Comer". His support for this type of music also comes across from Llorca's DJing. Whereas David's productions are characterized by a techier vibe and his wealth of releases and remixes on world famous labels such as 2020 Vision, Gourmet, Jinxx and many others are a testament to this. David's extensive DJing commitments worldwide also show his success as a producer and DJ. Together they show that the future of House is bright, with their sound progressing with each release. A word on Brique Rouge This imprint is one of France's finest. Purveying the best in House, from the deepest jazziest flavours, to pumping tech-house grooves. The label has created a truly multinational feel, with the signing of artists from across the world. Respected producers such as Mazi and Tony Senghore have been brought in along side up and coming names such as Yann Fontaine and Tapani Tolpanniemi. Those 'big-name' producers have seen their profiles raised by Brique Rouge, while for newer artists, the label has brought them valuable exposure. With each release, Brique Rouge has given a different slant to the whole 'deep house' sound, giving a unique vibe to each release. The recent released "Do It As: Brique Rouge" compilation provides an excellent snapshot of the labels wealth of talent, combining past, present and future releases with a few exclusive gems. The label is a unique entity, showing that despite the media's rush to pick up French house a few years back, there is still a wealth of quality undiscovered by the mainstream. The only thing you can be certain of with each release from the label is that it will be of the highest standard, whatever sub-genre of House it falls into! |
